FFL Transfers
Before initiating the transfer process, it’s essential to get in touch with Gun Works to inform them about your intention to transfer a firearm. You can reach out to them via phone (423) 458-1539 or email Ben@brenang32.sg-host.com to discuss the details of the transfer and any specific requirements they may have.
Step 2: Gather Required Information
To facilitate the transfer process, we will need to gather some essential information, including:
- Your personal details (name, address, contact information)
- Details of the firearm you intend to transfer (make, model, serial number)
- Any pertinent documentation related to the firearm (purchase receipt, ownership documents)
Having this information readily available will streamline the transfer process and ensure everything moves smoothly.
Step 3: Arrange for Firearm Shipment
Once you’ve coordinated with Gun Works and gathered all the necessary information, you’ll need to arrange for the shipment of the firearm to their location. Ensure that you comply with all federal and state laws regarding the shipping of firearms to avoid any legal complications.
Step 4: Visit Gun Works for Background Check
Once the firearm has been delivered to our location, you will need to visit Gun Works to complete the transfer process. Below are the fees for the transfer:

- Background check is $10.00
- Two Transfers and Background $70.00
- Three Transfers and Background $80.00

Please read these instructions carefully so the FFL transfer is done efficiently and correctly.
If you have a transfer from another FFL dealer please fill out the form below.
If you have a firearm from a private citizen located in another state, they will need to verify that we are a valid dealer by going to this website here. Enter 1-62-10512 into the ez check, then the private citizen can verify our FFL. After these steps have been completed, please make sure the private citizen provides us a copy of their drivers license. The license of the individual is used to document the owner in our firearm log book
During your visit, you will undergo the required background check as per Tennessee state law. Once the background check is completed, and all necessary paperwork is processed, the firearm will be transferred to you legally.
Step 5: Complete Transfer Paperwork
Before leaving Gun Works premises, ensure that you complete all necessary paperwork related to the firearm transfer. This may include filling out a transfer form, providing identification, and signing any required documents.
Step 6: Take Possession of the Firearm
Once all paperwork is completed and the background check has been approved, you will be able to take possession of the transferred firearm. If you are delayed on the background check for any reason, you will be notified once we have the approval and can schedule another day to pick up your firearm.Â
